The final of the 2023 Wynn Presents Macau Masters exhibition tournament was played over a best of 17 format. Mark Williams beat Jack Lisowski by 9-6 to win the event and take the 150000 pounds prize money.
The first session finished with Willo leading by 5-3, but it was Jack who had stolen the show by scoring a147 in frame 4. When they resumed, Jack closed the gap to just one frame, trailing only by 6-5. But that as good as it got for Jackpot as Willo won the last three fames of the match.
Congratulations Mark Williams!

Here is Jack’s 147
And some of the Trophy ceremony

Ronnie was the one on duty to give the winner his trophy. From what transpired on Weibo, he looked a bit “shy” out there and left discretely, not wanting to take some of the attention away from the winner, Mark Williams.
And last but not least … a big heartfelt
Thank You to Kalacs!
for his outstanding contribution throughout the event!
Kalacs has chased and posted countless links to videos, images and articles in the Chinese press and Weibo posts for us to enjoy! I’m very grateful. Thank you again Kalacs!

I am now back in Hong Kong after the Macau trip. The event was well-organised, although there were many empty seats for most of the matches, but that’s not really the point. The standards were pretty high although the tables played easy. I was a little surprised that the players took it as seriously as they did: there was no attempt to contrive closer finishes as can happen in exhibitions.
Sorry, but I can’t contribute to the excellent arrays of photos and videos, many provided by Kalacs. My photography skills are basic at best!
Whilst the old-town Macau is very charming and interesting, the casino end is characterless – just a gigantic shopping-mall. There are replicas of famous buildings from around the world (I was staying in the Parisian quarter). As my colleague rather sardonically suggested: if you lose all your money in the casino, you get the choice to jump off the Eiffel Tower, Empire State Building, Big Ben, etc. I’m not a gambler at all, and that pretty much sums up my view of Macau.
Work permitting, I hope to be in Dongguan and Yushan in March.
old-town Macau->Stamina consuming as difficult to find parking space. And the alleys are too much like a maze…
Wynn: some friends decided only attending first day of Wynn.
As the description in SF draws is completely confusing… and Tibet…
Melco: Completely doomed when it was postponed by WST. (as chinese mainlanders can only apply a permit to go Macau once in every 3 months)
Yes, you are right. Some mainland Chinese I met had difficulty with the rearranged dates of the Melco event.
There were some serious questions about the Lhasa exhibition. Did Ronnie O’Sullivan and Ding Junhui really care about Macau as some of the other players?
But I think people were generally happy to see their snooker stars in asia for the first time since 2019.

So, the 1st session according to this profile’s stories: https://www.instagram.com/wynn.palace/
It was 1-0 to MJW: https://i.ibb.co/v35ZnVP/1-0.jpg
Williams was 2-0 up and looked good for the 3-0 because he was 45-0 up: https://i.ibb.co/LpsbY3X/2-0.jpg
BUT, Lisowski won frame 3 and with a maximum break!, frame 4 too, 2-2! https://i.ibb.co/996s8Y8/2-2.jpg
3-2 to Mark, Lisowski was 47-0 up in frame 6…: https://i.ibb.co/vHNs97R/3-2.jpg
… but I think it was 4-2 to Mark: https://i.ibb.co/qBdX0XZ/4-2.jpg
And it was 5-3 after the 1st half: https://i.ibb.co/QKP9fZT/5-3.jpg
Fortunately with wynn.palace-s insta profile we know a bit more in the final. I will post several pictures from the 2nd session:
After the 1st session Mark J. was 5-3 up.
It was 5-4 and according to this it was 5-5: https://i.ibb.co/y5xgmtX/5-5.jpg
Williams was 6-5 up and Lisowski looked good to level the match: https://i.ibb.co/jgRJD7C/6-5.jpg
BUT it was a big moment here, MJW produced a brilliant 74 from 0-56 down to take the 12th frame: https://i.ibb.co/85xVPwL/7-5.jpg
With a century, Williams was 8-5 up! https://i.ibb.co/PQhJnPC/8-5.jpg
Lisowski won frame 14 witha 96! https://i.ibb.co/RBhwxV4/8-6.jpg
But the final result is: Williams 9-6 Lisowski.
Will cover the first session with a similar way
Enjoyed to find any ways to cover this event somehow.
