Ronnie won the Champion of Champions for the third time on November 11, 2018.

Remarkably he’s reached the final in all five occasions he entered the event, but had lost in the final to John HIggins in 2016 and to Shaun Murphy in 2017. He beat them both en route to the tile this time. In the final, he beat Kyren Wilson in a deciding frame.

The final was quite dramatic. Ronnie dominated the first session leading 5-1 and 6-3. But Kyren came back at him all guns blazing. He came back to 6-5. Ronnie pulled away again, leading 8-5. Kyren fought back again and got in front, 9-8, needing just one frame to win. He was first in the next as well, only for Ronnie to nick it after a huge piece of luck.
