On May 2, 2022, at the Crucible theatre in Sheffield, Ronnie won his seventh World Championship, equalling Stephen Hendry’s record.

During the tournament, Ronnie broke or equalled a whole host of records:
- most appearances at the Crucible: 30 (shared with Steve Davis)
- most appearances in the quarter-finals: 20
- most appearances in the semi-finals: 13
- most Word titles: 7 (shared with Stephen Hendry)
- most ranking titles: 39
- became the first player to score more than 200 centuries at the Crucible
- became the oldest ever Snooker World Champion
This victory definitely cemented Ronnie’s status as the Greatest Of All Times in his sport.
It was a very emotional win for Ronnie who celebrated with his family: his father and his two youngest children Ronnie Jr and Lilly joined him on the floor during the Trophy Ceremony.
