The Northern Ireland Open 2017
The field of top stars for this month’s Northern Ireland Open world ranking event has now been confirmed.
The tournament runs from November 20 to 26 at the Belfast Waterfront and it’s the second in the season’s Home Nations series.
Matches to look out for in the first round include:
Mark Allen v Sanderson Lam – Monday November 20 not before 7pm
Ronnie O’Sullivan v Lukas Kleckers – Tuesday November 21 not before 7pm
Judd Trump v Stuart Carrington – Tuesday November 21 at 1pm
John Higgins v Nigel Bond – Tuesday November 21 afternoon session
Shaun Murphy v Chen Zifan – Monday November 20 afternoon session
Other top stars competing include Neil Robertson, Joe Swail, Jimmy White and defending champion Mark King.

A bit surprisingly, Mark Selby hasn’t entered this one… but then he doesn’t need to and, probably prefers to concentrate on his preparation for the UK Championship where he is the defending champion.

Ronnie will start his UK Championship campaign against Rhys Clark, on November 30, at 7:30 pm.

Yes, and it’s just an example how the same players seem to collide repetitively. Just look up how many time Alex Ursenbacher met John Higgins this season only. The “random” draws don’t seem very random to me…
