Ronnie O’Sullivan has pulled out of next week’s Cazoo British Open for medical reasons.
The world number one was due to face Jimmy Robertson in the opening round on Monday, but instead he has been replaced in the draw by Steven Hallworth.

Hopefully he will fully recover from it, otherwise his season will be stop-and-go.

Let’s hope he starts working with Steve Feeney sooner rather than later and then it doesn’t matter if he skips some now.
I actually prefer Ronnie to withdraw from these lesser events rather than play kamikaze and lose in the early rounds…
It’s not surprising, but disappointing and somewhat worrying: he has no points to defend there, but his ranking will suffer a lot by the end of the season.
