There was a time when Paul Mount was the manager of a rather huge and succesful professional snooker players team. Due to a combination of factors, he decided to walk away from this activity at the end of the 2014/15 season.
But Paul loves snooker and this love hasn’t left him with the closure of On Q Management. The Capital Venue still hosts quite a number of events, the best known of them being probably the Pink Ribbon. But there are many others aimed at developing grass root snooker: pro-ams and junior events.
The MIUS Cup is such a junior event, and it was won by Jackson Page
Ben Mertens, only 13, struggled during the group stages, clearly tired. He’s still very young and has played and traveled a lot this summer. But he managed to win the plate, beating Liam Davies, who is even younger than him. Both had played at the Pink Ribbon end July, and Ben had made it to the pro stage on both sides of the draw, he also reached the pro stage at the PHC last week. Great to see kids that young at such level already, and great to see events being there for them to play in.
