Berlin Tagebuch – Day 1

The first session of the tournament, featuring only 3 matches, was a quick one, with Mark Selby and Graeme Dott winning by 5-0 over Steven Hallworth and Tian Pengfei, whilst Stephen Maguire only dropped one frame against Ken Doherty..

The second session – with all five tables in use – saw Judd Trump and Zhang Anda also whitewash their opponents, Ali Carter and Alfie Burden respectively. Barry Hawkins also came through quickly with a 5-2 victory over Alan Mc Manus.

The two remaining matches went to a deciding frame. Martin Gould prevailed over Mark Williams and Ben Woollaston beat Shaun Murphy, having never been ahead in the match before the final frame.

Ronnie and Neil Robertson, who didn’t qualify, are both in the “studio” as Eurosport pundits. Neil does the first three days, Ronnie will be there during the final week-end.
