The tournament starts today. However because the draw could still change yesterday, it’s only yesterday evening that WST made this available:

There will be one match every day of the week, with 8 frames played in the afternoon and a possible 11 in the evening.
Today’s match is Ronnie vs John Higgins. Do I look forward to it? If I’m honest, no, I don’t. If John Higgins plays like he did in the Players Championship, it will probably be another heavy defeat for Ronnie, and I won’t enjoy that one bit.
From one side, I would agree with all the above said. Although I think Ronnie will undoubtedly want a revenge and will step up a gear, but if Higgins contunues in the same vein as he did in his 2 previous matches against ROS, there will be too little of a chance for Ronnie. From the other side, I can’t imagine winning a tournament without beating a couple of top players…I mean if Ronnie does beat Higgins he will most probably meet Judd Trump in the second round. Does not look like a walk in the park either. So let’s support Ronnie, expect a better performance and hope he can find some sparkle….
Not looking forward to it at all. Ronnie did not do well in any of the important matches this season and Higgins’ recently acquired terminator-like qualities are frightening. Neither does he look like possessing such a carefree happy attitude as professed by Williams and Ronnie, although I have my doubts about the veracity of the latter.
